Professional Experience
Malcolm commenced with the firm in June 2011 as a senior associate having been admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in August 1998 and the High Court of Australia in July 2000.
Malcolm has considerable experience in all areas of insurance with over 12 years experience. He regularly provides advices to insurers on policy interpretations and is experienced in conducting litigation on behalf of overseas and local insurers in relation to claims against occupiers, hospitals, doctors and professionals including construction claims.
He has conducted matters in the Federal Court of Australia, the NSW Court of Appeal, Supreme Courts of various Australian States, the District Court of NSW and Local Court of NSW. He has also represented clients at the Consumer, Trader & Tenancy Tribunal, Administrative Appeals Tribunal and Coroners Court of NSW.
Malcolm was involved in the Super League litigation and Thredbo Coronial Inquest. He has acted for insurers in relation to the medical malpractice of dentists, chiropractors, doctors and hospitals. He has also had experience dealing with catastrophic claims including diving cases, head injuries, construction and motor vehicle cases involving detailed assessments of liability and quantum.
Malcolm has also conducted professional indemnity matters involving architects, engineers, solicitors and barristers as well as property damage claims. He has given seminars on topics including Occupier’s Liability, Implied Warranties, Concurrent Evidence and Legal Costs.
