Professional Experience
Joseph has more than a decade’s experience in litigation and dispute resolution.
Joseph acts for construction-risk and professional indemnity insurers on matters of policy drafting, management of coverage issues, and in defence of civil disputes on behalf of architects, building contractors, civil and mechanical engineers, manufacturers of industrial products and principal certifying authorities.
Current and recent experience includes:
- acting for an architect/project manager in a multi-party litigated dispute arising from the design and construction of a $60 million industrial facility in NSW;
- the mechanical engineers responsible for the maintenance of freight trains involved in a catastrophic derailment in South Australia; and
- the civil engineers responsible for the design of recycling infrastructure in Queensland, specifically defending a claim for damages in excess of $20 million associated with the failure of waste digester cylinders within the plant.
Joseph also acts for finance, legal and medical professionals (insured and uninsured) in defence of administrative and disciplinary matters, as well as in defence of civil claims for damages. In this regard, Joseph’s experience extends to the administrative jurisdictions.
