- Lee & Lyons were the first firm to arbitrate an insurance dispute in the Dust Diseases Tribunal under the arbitration provisions of the Dust Diseases Tribunal Regulations.
- Successfully defending a major insurer on the grounds that the insured industrial employer company had actual knowledge of the dangers associated with the use of asbestos dust and fibre and failed to take reasonable precautions to prevent the Plaintiff's exposure.
- Acting in a major recovery against the tobacco companies in the Dust Diseases Tribunal on the basis that the Plaintiff's smoking materially contributed to his/her disease.
- Successfully defended a class of large contribution claims brought by sub contractors against a major South Australian retailer.
