• We are acting for an international consultant engineer in a $100million claim in connection with the construction of a freeway.
• We are advising a consultant engineering firm in relation to proceedings brought by the Conservation Council against the owner/operator of a dam in Queensland concerning the impact of the dam on an endangered species of fish and whether the dam has breached conditions of the Minister's consent. The engineering firm was retained to advise on the design of the dam.
• Defending a firm of engineers in ICC arbitration proceedings in Singapore initiated by an international contractor. The contractor alleged the engineers had been negligent in calculating steelwork quantities for a design and construct tender bid to widen a highway bridge located in South Korea.
• Defending a firm of architects in a multi-party dispute arising from cracking which developed around windows situated in a luxury apartment development.
• Defending an engineering contractor against third party claims arising from subsidence damage caused to road and rail infrastructure located adjacent to a construction site.
• Acting for a group of Australian and London based insurers of a multinational firm of engineers on a claim for $10 million resulting from the alleged negligent design and repair of an 1180kv induction motor at an oil refinery.
