Professional experience
Fran has specialised in insurance litigation since 2007 and was admitted as a solicitor in 2009. She practices in public liability claims, professional indemnity claims, indemnity dispute and subrogated recovery claims. She holds a Bachelor of Law and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Professional Studies.
Fran conducts litigation on behalf of local and overseas insurers and corporate Insureds, solicitors, real estate agents and local Councils.
Some of Fran’s recent projects include:
- Acting for Insurers in relation to personal injury claims arising from construction and work sites.
- Acting for Insurers of local Councils in relation to personal injury claims.
- Acting for Insurers of labour-only builders in relation to faulty workmanship claims resulting in ‘leaky home’ litigation.
- Acting for a Real Estate Agent being sued by purchaser alleging misrepresentation and breaches of the Fair Trading Act 1986 (NZ).
- Acting for an Insurer in an indemnity dispute arising from an agency dispute between the Insured and the Insured’s broker.
- Acting for an Insurer in a subrogated recovery action for a claim worth $1 million at the Wellington High Court.
